Halliehurst
Halliehurst, built in 1880 by Senator Stephen B. Elkins and named for his wife, was in use for most of its history. It was restored in the 1990s and named a National Historic Landmark in the same decade. Today the mansion, with its large fireplaces, sprawling porches, and signature blue lapped siding, houses the offices of the President, Advancement staff, Alumni, Communications, and Admissions and is used by area residents for weddings, anniversary parties and other events. It is especially beautiful during the winter holidays.
