Davis and Elkins College traditionally honors three Alumni during the Awards
Banquet held over Homecoming Weekend. The three awards that are given during the banquet are the
Distinguished Alumnus Award, the Tower Award and the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award.
The basic criteria for these awards are:
Distinguished Alumnus Awards: presented to an alumnus who has made a significant
contribution to society in his or her particular career. Basis for selection includes career
advancement, service to others, significant honors and commitment to the College.
Tower Award: presented to an alumnus for outstanding service to the College and
its alumni programs. Basis for selection includes volunteering of time, talent or funds in support
of the numerous student and alumni programs the College offers.
Outstanding Young Alumnus Award: presented to an
alumnus who graduated within the last 10 years who shows unusual
promise in his or her profession and loyalty and commitment to the
College. Basis for selection includes career advancement, service
to others, significant honors and commitment to the College. For
